There are some online casinos which offer mobile games. Roulette is one of the most popular mobile casino games. It's very easy to begin. Usually you select your country, your phone number and then you download a casino software. Most of the games can be played for free which gives you enough time to get used to it before you place your first bet.
With the possible exception of craps, no other casino game embodies the elements of chance, risk, and adrenaline as much as roulette. Many a fortune has been won or lost by less than a half inch on the roulette wheels, and the mystique and draw of roulette is nearly unmatched. The name “roulette” comes from the French word for wheel and, apropos that, the game consists of a wheel that is broken up into 37 or 38 sections and a small ball. American roulette, which is played in the United States, South America, and the Caribbean, uses a wheel with the numbers one through thirty-six, zero, and double zero. The European version of the game, which is played everywhere else, does not have a double zero on the wheel.
No matter which type of wheel is in use, the basic play is the same from game to game. A dealer rolls a small ball around the edge of the spinning roulette wheel, and as it loses momentum it falls into one of the thirty-eight partitioned numbers on the wheel. Wherever it lands is the winning number, and players who made bets that correspond to that number win their bets.
There are many types of bets that a player can make in roulette, and they can be easily separated into two major categories. “Outside” bets are bets that have better odds but do not pay as much. Players can bet black or red, or even or odd, and those pay one to one. If a player bets five dollars on black and a black number comes up- twenty-nine for example, the player would win five dollars. If he bets five dollars on even and the twenty-nine comes up, he loses his bet. These bets are the safest bets on the table in terms of odds. Even these, however, are statistically disadvantageous to the players. This is because the house pays even odds, but the presence of zero and double zero make the actual odds slightly worse than that. If the ball lands on double zero, all outside bets lose and the casino continues to make money.
Other outside bets that a player can make are 1-18 or 19-36, dozens bets, and column bets. If a player bets 1-18 and any of the numbers in the bottom half come up, that player wins his bet. Dozens bets are when a player bets on which third of the number is going to come up. A player betting on the first dozen wins if the numbers 1-12 come up, and loses if any other number comes up. Column bets allow a player to place a bet at the base of one of the three columns of numbers on the board. Again, if the number that comes up is in one of those columns then the player wins their bet. 1-18 and 19-36 bets pay one to one, and dozens and column bets pay two to one. Again, the house advantage lies in that neither zero nor double zero pay on outside bets.
“Inside” bets can pay much better than outside bets but, depending on how they are played, have worse odds. Most casinos have different colored chips for inside and outside play, so a player will most likely need to purchase chips from the dealer if they want to play inside. There are many ways to bet inside, but they are all relatively straightforward- the less numbers you have a bet on, the worse your odds are and the higher the payout. The basic bets that a player has on the inside of the board are single number bets, splits, corners, and streets (as well as any combination of these bets).
A single number bet is exactly what it sounds like- a player places their chip completely inside the square of the number they want to bet on. If the number comes up, the player is paid thirty-five to one. Since the actual odds of any number coming up are thirty-seven to one, the house still retains an advantage. A split bet is when a player places his bet on the line between two numbers. If either number hits, the player is paid seventeen to one. A corner bet is placed on the corners of four adjacent numbers, and pays eight to one if any of the four numbers comes up. A street bet is placed beside a horizontal row of three numbers, and pays eleven to one if any of the numbers come up. There are many other combinations that players can bet, and every roulette player has their preferences. These basic bets are the foundation of all bets, and odds of any combination bet can be derived from the odds of the basic bets.
While the house edge is derived solely from the presence of the zeros, players are also allowed to bet on either zero. These bets pay equal to single number bets, and are no better or worse than any other number bet. Some players, however, mistakenly think that since the zeroes are the key to the house winning they come up more often than other numbers. This is clearly fallacious, since every roll is an independent event.
Roulette, though it is a fairly simple game, has a storied history. Since the numbers on the wheel (one through thirty-six) add up to 666, roulette has long been the focus of ire from religious groups. Additionally, rumors have existed about certain players selling their souls for the secret to winning at the game. Beyond superstition, roulette has also been a high profile way to make news. Most recently, an English man sold off all of his possessions, including his clothing, and put the entire total on red in a Las Vegas Casino. He won the bet, thereby doubling his net worth, and returned to normal life. Roulette will always be a marquee game at casinos, and as long as it is it will continue to make history.
